Eastern European Folk art pottery, ceramics, and pysanky
I am a self-taught artist specializing in the traditional folk arts of pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) and ceramics. I live in rural Washington County, New York, making my home in Greenwich and creating from my studio in nearby Cambridge. Surrounded by fields, farmland, and country roads, I draw constant inspiration from the natural beauty of the region and the rich artistic traditions of Eastern Europe.
Sharing these traditions with others is an important part of my work. I teach hands-on pysanky workshops for both children and adults throughout upstate New York and Vermont, introducing students to the history, symbolism, and techniques of this centuries-old art form. My work is exhibited and sold in galleries, gift shops, and art venues across the region. I am a member of the Valley Artisans Market cooperative and actively collaborate with the local Ukrainian community to celebrate and preserve the beauty and cultural heritage of pysanky.
More recently, I have expanded my practice to include jewelry design. I create porcelain jewelry using traditional porcelain decorative techniques, often incorporating metal lusters and semi-precious stones. Each piece is treated as a small-scale artwork, carefully designed and handmade, resulting in jewelry that is original, expressive, and truly one of a kind.
